Texans Place LBs Mike Mohamed Carlos Thompson On I.R. & Promote Max Bullough

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Texans have placedĀ ILB Mike Mohamed and OLB Carlos Thompson on season-ending injured reserve Wednesday.

  • This clears roster spots for OLB Kourtnei Brown and ILB Brian Peters, who were both signed toĀ contracts today.
  • The Texans also promoted ILB Max Bullough to their active roster, according to Aaron Wilson.

Mohamed, 27, is a former sixth-round pick of the Broncos back in 2011. He spent a year in Denver before joining the Titans briefly and ultimately ending up with the Texans at the start of the 2013 season.

He’s in the final year of hisĀ three-year, $1.710 million contract, which includes a base salary of $660,000 for the 2015 season. He’ll be an unrestricted free agent in 2016.

Thompson, 23, signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi back in May. He’s in the first year of hisĀ three-year, $1.577 million rookie contract.

Bullough, 23, was a priority rookie free agent signing back in May of last year. He wound up appearing in one game for the Texans in 2014, but was among the team’s roster cuts last month.

Houston later added him to their practice squad at the start of the season.
