Texans Place S Lonnie Ballentine On Injured Reserve

The Houston Texans announced that they’ve officially placed S Lonnie Ballentine on injured reserve Saturday.

Ballentine, 23, was taken in the seventh round of the 2014 NFL draft by the Texans. He managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but wound up being placed on season-ending injured reserve that season.

Ballentine’s 2015 season came to an end after dislocating his left knee and tearing his MCL and PCL.

The Texans activated Ballentine from the PUP list a few weeks ago.

He has two years remaining on his four-year, $2,265,896 rookie contract that included a $45,896 signing bonus. Ballentine will make $525,000 (2016) and $690,000 (2017) over the remainder of the agreement.

In 2016, Ballentine appeared in two games but did not record a statistic.
