Texans Placing G Max Scharping On COVID-19 List, Activate WR Isaiah Coulter From IR

According to Aaron Wilson, the Texans are activating fifth-round WR Isaiah Coulter from injured reserve.

He’ll take the spot of G Max Scharping on the active roster, who is being placed on the COVID-19 list. 

Scharping’s positive test caused the Texans to close their team facility today as they test to determine if there are any more positive cases. 

Scharping, 24, was drafted by the Texans in the second round out of Northern Illinois in 2019. He’s in the second year of a four-year, $5 million rookie deal that included $2.9 million guaranteed. 

In 2020, Scharping has appeared in seven games for the Texans and made three starts. 

Coulter, 22, was a three-year starter at Rhode Island before being selected by the Texans in the fifth round of the draft. He signed a four-year rookie deal worth $3,587,952 that includes a signing bonus of $292,952 with Houston. 

During his three-year career at Rhode Island, Coulter appeared in 34 games and recorded 132 receptions for 1,855 yards (14.1 YPC) and 12 touchdowns.
