The Houston Texans have reached a deal with C Chris Meyers, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Schefter adds that Meyers’ contract is a four-year worth $25 million and includes $14 million in guarantees.
Houston cleared some much needed cap room recently with the release of OT Eric Winston which allowed them to even consider re-signing Meyers. Despite being one of the bests centers in the league, Meyers seemed to have very little interest in leaving Houston. This is a great move for the Texans as they should be able to keep their potent running game in order next season.
Last year, he was rated by Pro Football Focus as the best center in the league and we had him as the #12 best available free agent in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
