Texans Sign LS Jon Weeks To A Four-Year, $3.9M Extension

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Texans have signed LS Jon Weeks to a four-year extension.

  • According to Aaron Wilson, Weeks’ extension is worth $3.9 million and includes a $250,000 signing bonus, to go along with $80,000 of his 2015 salary guaranteed.
  • Weeks’ base salaries in this new deal will be: $825,000 (2015), $825,000 (2016), $900,000 (2017), $915,000 (2018) and $930,000 and (2019), per Wilson.
  • This agreement will keep him under team control through the 2019 season.

Weeks, 29, was in the final year of his four-year, $2.9 million contract. He wound up signing on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Baylor back in 2010.

In 2014, Weeks appeared in all 16 games for the Texans, and has yet to miss a single game in his five-year NFL career.
