The Houston Texans brought in free agent CB Josh Hawkins for a tryout on Monday, according to Howard Balzer.
Hawkins, 25, wound up signing on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of East Carolina back in 2016. He managed to make the 53-man roster in each of his first two seasons in Green Bay, but was among their final roster cuts this preseason.
After a brief stint on the Panthers’ practice squad, Hawkins signed on to the Chiefs’ taxi squad last month. However, he has been on and off of their taxi squad multiple times this season.
In 2018, Hawkins appeared in five games for the Panthers, but has yet to record a statistic.
