According to Aaron Wilson, the Titans brought in five free-agent linebackers including Daren Bates.

- LB James Burgess
- LB Jordan Kunaszyk
- LB Tuzar Skipper
- LB Tim Williams
Bates, 29, wound up signing on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Auburn back in 2013. He played out his rookie contract with the team before testing the open market and eventually signing a one-year contract with the Raiders.
The Titans signed Bates to a three-year, $6 million back in 2017 and finished out his contract this offseason. He was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent before signing with Houston last month but was among their final roster cuts.
In 2019, Bates appeared in 13 games for the Titans and recorded six tackles, a forced fumble and a recovery.
