Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that the Bears are trading WR Anthony Miller to the Texans.
According to Aaron Wilson, the Texans traded a 2022 fifth-round pick to the Bears for Miller and a 2022 seventh-round pick.
Reports had said that the Bears were discussing potential deals for Miller this offseason, so this isn’t a big surprise.
Miller could use a fresh start and is a reasonable gamble for a team like the Texans to take.
Miller, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Bears back in 2018. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $5,353,700 contract.
Miller is owed a non-guaranteed base salary of $1,210,050 for the 2021 season. The Bears will incur a dead cap hit of $493,400 by trading Miller.
In 2020, Miller appeared in all 16 games for the Bears and caught 49 passes for 485 yards receiving and two touchdowns while rushing for 12 yards. He also totaled 16 kick return yards and 55 punt return yards.
