The Packers traded G Justin McCray and an undisclosed 2020 draft pick to the Browns Saturday in exchange for an undisclosed 2020 pick, presumably higher.
The Packers were reportedly planning to release McCray, but Green Bay gets something for him instead.
McCray, 26, originally signed on with the Titans as an undrafted free agent out of UCF back in May of 2014. He was waived at the start of his rookie season and spend the entire year on Tennessee’s practice squad before returning to the team on a future/reserve contract.
After sitting out the 2015 and 2016 seasons, the Packers signed him to a contract in 2017 and brought him back on an exclusive rights deal the following year.
In 2018, McCray appeared in 12 games for the Packers and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 23 guard out of 77 qualifying players.
