TRADE: Falcons Trade WR Mohamed Sanu To Patriots For 2nd-Rnd Pick

According to Adam Schefter, the Falcons have traded WR Mohamed Sanu to the Patriots in exchange for a second-round pick.

At 1-6, the Falcons appear ready to turn their attention toward maximizing the value of their veteran players in a potential rebuild coming this offseason.

New England has been one of several teams reported to be looking for an upgrade on offense. This move should give them a starter on offense for the rest of this year and next year.

Sanu, 29, is a former third-round pick of the Bengals back in 2012. He spent four years in Cincinnati before signing a five-year, $32.5 million contract that included $14 million guaranteed with the Falcons in 2016.

Sanu stands to make base salaries of $6 million and $6.5 million over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2019, Sanu has appeared in six games and caught 32 passes for 310 yards and one touchdown.
