ESPN’s Joe Schad reports that former LSU DB Tyrann Mathieu is expected to announce that he will be entering the 2013 NFL Draft.
Mathieu has had multiple drug related issues in the past the year, which ultimately led LSU to cut ties with him.
Both Mel Kiper and Todd McShay of ESPN offered their opinions of where Mathieu could go in next year’s draft and both of them mentioned that they could see him coming off of the board in the third or fourth round.
There are concerns about his size and his ability to cover opposing receivers, so he wasn’t seem as a first-round pick even before his dismissal from LSU. It seems very likely that he’ll be one of the more intriguing players to watch come next April.
