Veteran DE/OLB Elvis Dumervil Retiring From NFL

On Thursday, veteran DE/OLBĀ Elvis Dumervil announced that he’s retiring from the NFL.

Dumervil, 34, is a former fourth-round pick of the Broncos back in 2006. He spent six years in Denver before signing a five-year, $26 million contractĀ that includedĀ $8.5 million guaranteedĀ with the Ravens back in 2013.

Baltimore cut him loose last year and would later sign a two-year, $8 million contract that included $1.5 million guaranteed with the 49ers. Dumervil was set to make a base salary of $2.75 million for the 2018 season when San Francisco declined his option back in March.

During his 12-year NFL career, Dumervil recorded 264 tackles, 105. sacks, one interception, 23 forced fumbles, 13 recoveries and a safety over the course of 162 games. He was a five-time Pro Bowl selection and made two first-team All-Pro squads.
