Vikings Activate RB Latavius Murray From PUP List

The Minnesota Vikings announced Monday that they’ve officially activated RB Latavius Murray from the PUP list.

Murray has been sidelined with an ankle issue after he underwent offseason surgery. Minnesota currently has second-round RB Dalvin Cook atop their first depth chart, so Murray has some catching up to do in the coming weeks in order to carve out a role in their offense this season.

Murray, 27, is a former sixth-round pick of the Raiders back in 2013. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2.266 million rookie contract before signing a three-year, $15 million contract that included $3.4 million guaranteed with the Vikings this offseason.

In 2016, Murray has rushed for 788 yards on 195 carries (4 YPC) to go along with 12 rushing touchdowns and 33 receptions for 264 yards receiving. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 21 running back out of 61 qualifying players.
