Vikings HC Mike Zimmer told reporters after Saturday’s win over the Packers that G Nick Easton suffered a fractured ankle that will require surgery and is out for the season, per Chris Tomasson.
It’s likely that the Vikings will place Easton on injured reserve in the coming days and add someone to their roster.
Easton, 25, originally signed on with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent out Harvard back in 2015. He was later traded to the 49ers return for a seventh-round pick.
San Francisco elected to trade Easton to the Vikings for LB Gerald Hodges a few months later.
In 2017, Easton appeared in 11 games for the Vikings and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 62 guard out of 78 qualifying players.
