The Minnesota Vikings have announced that they have reached a longterm agreement with LB Chad Greenway.
NFL.com’s Jason La Canfora adds that the deal is a five-year agreement and Jeremy Fowler of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Greenway will get $20 million guaranteed. Fowler reports that the deal could total $41 million.
Minnesota designated Greenway with their franchise tag back in February which would have paid him $10 million for the upcoming season but his 2011 salary will most likely be decreased. This is a huge deal for Greenway and a little surprising considering that Adrian Peterson is set to become a free agent at the end of the season.
