Vikings Prepared To Offer Leslie Frazier A Contract Extension?

Jeff Zulgad of ESPN 1500 Twin Cities writes that itโ€™s likely โ€œonly a matter of timeโ€ before the Minnesota Vikings offer head coach Leslie Frazier a contract extension. Zulgad adds that while itโ€™s almost certain that Frazier will have an offer to consider, a deal probably wonโ€™t be finalized until after the season.

Frazierโ€™s first full season with the Vikings was pretty disappointing in terms of their overall record (3-13), but he was starting a rookie quarterback and there were some holes on their roster that needed to be addressed. Clearly, this yearโ€™s Vikings team is much improved and has added some solid young talent to their roster. Minnesotaโ€™s success is ultimately tied to Christian Ponder, but theyโ€™re currently a single game away from making the playoffs. A win in Week 17 would be very big for Frazier and a Vikings team that was picked to finish last in the NFC North by almost everyone.
