Courtney Cronin reports that the Vikings are promoting WR Chad Beebe to their active roster on Saturday.
Sources tell Cronin that if Stefon Diggs is unable to suit for Minnesota on Sunday, it’s possible Beebe could play a considerable amount on offense.
Beebe, 24, wound up signing on with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Northern Illinois back in May. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract but was waived coming out of the preseason.
The Vikings later signed Beebe to their practice squad.
During his four-year college career at Northern Illinois, Beebe caught 64 passes for 930 yards receiving and three touchdowns over the course of 34 games.
