You can add CB Cedric Griffin to the list of players that the Vikings have released today. The announced all three of the moves this afternoon.
Griffin, 29, has been unwilling to renegotiate hisย $4.1 million base salary for the 2012 season so the move comes as little surprise. Previous reports mentioned that Griffin finished the 2011 seasonย “with no anticipation of coming back” so he can now test the open market.

Jeremy Fowlerย of the Pioneer Press reports that a person with knowledge of the situation has informed him that the Minnesota Vikings will release G’sย Steve Hutchinson and Anthony Herrera.
No real surprise here as the Vikings have been expected to release Hutchinson for some time now. His 2012 salary ofย $6.95 million and a $500,000 roster bonus makes him more than expendable at this point. Despite being 34 years old, Hutchinson but together a pretty solid season for the Vikings last year and was rated as the #8 best guard in the league by Pro Football Focus.
Herrera, 31, on the other hand, but together an equally poor season for Minnesota and had a base ofย $2.65 million for the upcoming season.
