Vikings Sign FB Zach Line, Waive QB Chandler Harnish

The Minnesota Vikings announced Friday that they have promoted FB Zach Line from their practice squad and waived QB Chandler Harnish.

The fact that rookie QB Teddy Bridgewater will be back next week makes this seem like a fairly obvious move for the Vikings.

Harnish, 26, was signed to the team’s practice squad earlier this week and promoted to the active roster just a few hours before Thursday night’s game.

He’s a former seventh-round pick of the Colts back in 2012. He has yet to appear in an NFL game.

Line, 24, signed with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of SMU back in 2013. He was recently added to the team’s practice squad. Last year, he appeared in three games and ran for eight yards on a single carry.

There is a chance that Harnish could end up on the team’s practice squad in the next few days.
