Ben Goessling of ESPN reports that the Vikings are bringing in former Browns DTย Phil Taylor for a tryout on Tuesday.
This is the first reportedly interest in Taylor since he worked out for the Ravens close to a month ago. Before that, Taylor met with the Steelers, but wasn’t signed to a contract.
Taylor, 27,ย was taken with the No. 21 overall pick by the Browns back in 2011, but was one of the more notable roster cuts at start of the season.
Cleveland wound upย picked up Taylor’sย fifth-year option and he was on roster first day of league year,ย which fully guaranteed his base salary ofย $5.477ย million.
Taylor was reportedlyย dealing with knee issues that led to the Browns moving on, and explains why he’s still available.
In 2014, Taylor appeared in just five games and recorded 10 tackles and a pass defense for the Browns.
