The Washington Football Team announced Saturday that they’ve placed DE Ryan Anderson on injured reserve and promoted OT David Steinmetz and RB Javon Leake to their active roster.
It’s worth mentioning that the NFL changed the rules regarding injured reserve for the 2020 season and players can return from the list in just three weeks.
Anderson, 26, was drafted by Washington in the second round out of Alabama in 2017. He signed a four-year, $5.32 million deal that included a $2.01 million signing bonus.
Entering the final year of his rookie deal, Anderson is slated to make a base salary of $1.19 million in 2020. He’ll be an unrestricted free agent in 2021.
In 2020, Anderson has appeared in nine games for Washington and recorded nine tackles and no sacks.
