Washington Placing LB Reuben Foster On Injured Reserve

John Keim of ESPN reports that Washington is placing LB Reuben Foster on injured reserve Saturday as they cut their roster down to 53 players.

Some earlier roster cuts for Washington include:

  1. RB Adrian Peterson
  2. CB Ryan Lewis (Chris Russell)
  3. OT Timon Parris (Adam Schefter)

Foster, 26, is a former first-round pick of the 49ers back in 2017. The 49ers waived him in 2018 and he was later claimed off of waivers by Washington.

Foster is entering the final year of his four-year, $9.03 million rookie contract and set to make a base salary of $1.7 million for the 2020 season. Washington declined to pick up his fifth-year option this past April.

In 2018, Foster appeared in six games for the 49ers and recorded 29 tackles and a pass defense.
