Washington Signs RB Jonathan Williams To Practice Squad

The Washington Football Team announced Wednesday that they’ve officially signed RB Jonathan Williams to their practice squad.

Ben Standig of The Athletic reports that Washington is signing RB Jonathan Williams to their practice squad.

Here’s Washington’s updated practice squad:

  1. DT David Bada (International)
  2. DE Jordan Brailford
  3. WR Tony Brown
  4. CB Aaron Colvin
  5. G Joshua Garnett
  6. QB Steven Montez
  7. LB Donald Payne
  8. C Ross Pierschbacher
  9. S Jeremy Reaves
  10. CB Cole Luke
  11. OL David Steinmetz
  12. WR Jeff Badet
  13. TE Temarrick Hemingway
  14. LB Jordan Kunaszyk
  15. DT Devaroe Lawrence
  16. DB Manny Patterson
  17. RB Jonathan Williams

This comes not long after the news that Washington has placed RB Bryce Love on injured reserve.

Williams, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Bills back in 2016. He was in the second year of his four-year, $2.58 million contract when the Bills waived him coming out of the preseason.

Williams had brief stints with the Broncos and Saints before signing on to the Colts’ practice squad last year. The Lions signed him to a contract this past August but he was among their final roster cuts and later added to their practice squad.

In 2019, Williams appeared in nine games and rushed for 235 yards on 49 carries (4.8 YPC) and one touchdown. He also caught five passes for 59 yards.
