ESPN’s John Clayton predicted on Sportscenter Tuesday that the Dallas Cowboys will eventually trade cornerback Mike Jenkins, who has voiced his desire to leave his team.
“Maybe it’s gonna be a third, maybe a fourth-round pick, maybe even better. … but in the end, I still think he’s the fourth cornerback,” Clayton said. “I think eventually he’ll get traded.”
Clayton opined that the Cowboys are trying to gain leverage in trade talks. It’s possible that Jenkins will be traded close to, or early in, training camp.
Jenkins has fallen down the pecking order at corner after the signing of Brandon Carr and drafting of Morris Claiborne with the sixth overall pick.
