49ers CB Richard Sherman Earns $2M Bonus For Passing Physical

On Wednesday, 49ers CB Richard Sherman officially passed his physical for the start of training camp, which means he’ll earn a $2 million bonus and avoid being placed on the active/PUP list.

Sherman was able to put in limited work during OTAs as he works his way back from a torn Achilles.

All indications are that Sherman is on track to be ready to go for the start of the season.

Sherman, 30, is a former fifth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2011. He was entering the final of his five-year, $58.789 million contract that includes $40 million guaranteed and set to make a base salary of $11 million for the 2018 season when the Seahawks released him this offseason.

The 49ers later signed him to a three-year, $39.15 million contract.

In 2017, Sherman appeared in nine games and recorded 35 tackles, two interceptions and seven pass defenses for the Seahawks. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 33 cornerback out of 120 qualifying players.
