Doug Kyed of NESN reports that the 49ers have claimed DT Chris Jones off waivers from the Dolphins.
Jones, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the Texans back in 2013. He lasted just a few months in Houston before he was waived and later claimed off of waivers by the Patriots.
New England cut Jones loose in the days leading up to this year’s NFL draft and he was once again claimed off of waivers, this time by the Dolphins. Unfortunately, Miami cut him loose as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players but they later elected to bring him.
The Dolphins once again cut Jones loose on Monday.
In 2016, Jones has appeared in seven games and recorded six tackles and no sacks for the Dolphins.
