49ers Release CB Tramaine Brock Following Domestic Violence Arrest

The San Francisco 49ers announced Friday that they’ve released CB Tramaine Brock following his recent domestic violence arrest.

Brock was recently released from jail after posting bond, but the team wasted little time in moving on from him.

Police officers tell Robert Salonga that they were called to domestic-violence report at Brock’s home and found a woman he is dating with “visible injuries.

Brock, 28, wound up signing on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Belhaven College back in 2010. He was in the final year of his five-year, $17.323 million contract that included $7 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $3.1 million for the 2017 season.

According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Brock will free up $3.55 million of available cap space while creating $750,000 in dead money.

In 2016, Brock appeared in all 16 games for the 49ers and recorded 59 tackles, no sacks, one interception, a forced fumble and 14 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 23 cornerback out of 111 qualifying players.
