AFC West Notes: Broncos, Chargers, Raiders

Broncos

  • According to Mike Klis, Broncos defensive coordinator Joe Woods has received permission to interview with other teams and there are at least three teams interested in him.
  • Ryan O’Halloran mentions that Bears secondary coach Ed Donatell, whose contract is up, as someone to watch for Vic Fangio’s staff.
  • Rick Stroud reports that the Buccaneers have hired former Broncos OL coach Sean Kugler.

Chargers

  • Chargers HC Anthony Lynn told reporters that he expects RB Melvin Gordon to play on Sunday, despite the fact that he’s dealing with sore knees and didn’t practice on Wednesday. (Doug Kyed)
  • Chargers DL Brandon Mebane said his daughter passed away last Thursday, but he still plans to play in the team’s playoff game this Sunday. (Mike DiGiovanna)

Raiders

The San Diego Mayor’s office denied a report from Tuesday that the Raiders had reached out to them about possibly playing in San Diego next season.

“Our office has not been in communication with the Raiders,” spokesman Craig Gustafson said, via the San Francisco Chronicle.
