Alshon Jeffery Says He’s Still A Few Weeks Away From Returning

Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery tells Jenny Vrentas that he has “a couple more visits with the doctor” before he can return.

“Some days I feel great, and some days … a shoulder injury is pretty tough,” Jeffery said.

Vrentas asked Jeffery if he was still a few weeks out and he nodded.

The Eagles activated Jeffery from the PUP list last week, which prevented him from missing the first six weeks of the season. However, it sounds like he could still miss most of this time healing from his shoulder injury.

Jeffery, 28, was taken in the second round of the 2012 NFL draft by the Bears. He played out the final year of his four-year, $4.54 million rookie contract with Chicago before agreeing to a one-year, $9.5 million contract with the Eagles last year.

Jeffery was in line to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason before he agreed to a four-year, $52 million extension last year.

In 2017, Jeffery has appeared in all 16 games for the Eagles and caught 57 passes for 789 yards receiving and nine touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 21 receiver out of 116 qualifying players.
