Bears Officially Release QB Mike Glennon, WR Markus Wheaton & DB Marcus Cooper

The Chicago Bears announced that they’ve officially released QB Mike Glennon, WR Markus Wheaton and DB Marcus Cooper.

Glennon already has a deal in place with the Cardinals, according to reports, so he’ll head to Arizona after one year with the Bears.

Glennon, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2013. He played out the final year of his four-year, $3.104 million rookie contract before signing a three-year, $45 million contract with the Bears that includes 18.5 million guaranteed last year.

In 2017, Glennon appeared in four games and threw for 833 yards while completing 66.4 percent of his passes to go along with four touchdowns and five interceptions.

Wheaton, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Steelers back in 2013. He played out the final year of his rookie contract with the Steelers when he signed a two-year, $11 million deal that included $6 million guaranteed with the Bears last offseason.

Wheaton was set to earn $5 million in the final year of his agreement.

In 2017, Wheaton appeared in 11 games for the Bears and caught three passes for 51 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
