Bears Sign K Jay Feely, Waive/Injured WR Chris Williams

The Chicago Bears announced Wednesday that they have signed K Jay Feely and waived/injured WR Chris Williams.

Feely, 38, recently worked out for the Broncos, but Denver elected to go with Connor Barth instead. Before that, Feely had tried out for the Lions job as well, but once again lost out to Matt Prater.

The Cardinals re-signed Feely to a one-year, $1.02 million contract back in March, but he was unable to beat out undrafted K Chandler Catanzaro for the job coming out of training camp and was later released.

Last year, Feely converted 83.3 percent of his field goal attempts and was 3 out of 5 from 50 yards or more.

Given that Robbie Gould is dealing with a quad injury, this seems like a short audition that Feely can use to try to secure another opportunity as a free agent next year.
