Brad Briggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that Chicago Bears have traded TE Greg Olsen to Carolina in exchange for a player (not Steve Smieth) and a draft pick. We’re stilling waiting for the details but this deal but have updates as soon as they’re available.
Latest reports began to surface that Greg Olsen’s agent Drew Rosenhaus distributed an email to all 32 teams which mentioned that the Bears had given him permission to seek a trade for the tight end.
“The Bears have granted me permission to seek a trade for Greg Olsen,” Rosenhaus wrote in an email, via Chicago Sun Times. “Please let me know if interested. Sounds like the Bears will be very reasonable on the compensation in return for Greg.”
Rosenhaus later retracted the email.
“Please disregard my previous email regarding Greg Olsen.”
Last year there were similar rumors regarding a possible deal for Olsen but nothing came of it. I’m not ruling this out but simply mentioning that’s based on little substance. Until we here something from the Bears side of this, I’m going to assume that he stays in Chicago.
