Washington Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo told USA Today after practice Thursday that it is incredible realistic that he and teammate Robert Griffin III could compete for more than just Comeback Player of the Year Awards.
Orakpo believes he could be in contention for the Defensive Player of the Year award as well.
“Defensive Player of the Year is a goal of mine,” Orakpo said. “I worked extremely hard this offseason and Defensive Player of the Year is very obtainable.”
Orakpo was placed on injured reserve in mid-September with a pectoral muscle injury. He played in just two contests last season.
