Report: Broncos Fear They May Lose WR Eric Decker In Free Agency

Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports that the Denver Broncos “fear” they may lose WR Eric Decker during free agency.

  • Rapoport adds that Broncos reportedly view Decker as a No.2 receiver and are hoping that he’ll allow them to match the best offer he receives on the open market.
  • According to Rapoport, there’s “no guarantee it happens” given that the Broncos have a number of players to address this offseason.

Decker, 26, should have no trouble finding suitors in free agency now that he’s coming off of a breakout season for the Broncos, thanks in large part to playing with a record-breaking quarterback and five-time MVP Peyton Manning.

Denver’s cap situation figures to be tight given that fellow WR Demaryius Thomas and TE Julius Thomas are entering contract years and are arguably harder to replace than Decker.

We have Decker listed as the No. 15 player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
