Update:

Ian Rapoport reports that Broncos QB Paxton Lynch is considered day-to-day with an ankle injury that is not believed to be serious.

Lynch is scheduled to undergo further testing Monday.

A report from Sunday mentioned that the Broncos were hoping to start Lynch for the duration of the serious to properly evaluate him. However, they may have to go with Trevor Siemian or Brock Osweiler this week.

The Denver Broncos announced that QB Paxton Lynch is out for the game with an ankle injury, per Patrick Smyth.

Trevor Siemian has replaced Lynch as the Broncos starter during Sunday’s game against the Raiders.

Lynch had just worked his way back from a shoulder injury and this was his first opportunity to start this season, so it’s clearly disappointing that he sustained another injury.

Earlier in the day, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported that the Broncos want to see what Lynch can do as their starter over the remainder of the season.

Denver was looking to get a full evaluation of Lynch and determine whether he can be their quarterback of the future.

Lynch, 23, was taken with the No. 26 overall pick after the Broncos traded up from No. 31 overall to get him in last year’s draft. Lynch signed a four-year, $9.4 million contract that includes $7.88 guaranteed and is set to make base salaries of $880,741 and $1.31 million over the next two years.

The contract also includes a fifth-year option to pick up in 2019.

In 2016, Lynch completed 49-of-83 passes (59 percent) for 497 yards to go along with two touchdowns and an interception for the Broncos over the course of three games.

We’ll have more regarding Lynch’s injury as the news is available.
