Browns Release DE Frostee Rucker

Jason La Canfora reports that the Cleveland Browns have announced that DE Frostee Rucker will be released.

Adam Caplan reports that sources have informed him that Rucker would have been guaranteed $2 million of his $2.5 million base salary had been on their roster as of tomorrow.

Rucker, 29, signed a five-year deal worth $20.5 million that included a $5 million signing bonus. Cleveland will take a cap hit, but they clearly felt that Rucker was not a good fit in their 3-4 defense.

He every game for the Browns in 2012 and produced 48 tackles and four sacks. Pro Football Focus rated him towards the bottom of the league in terms of 4-3 defensive ends.
