Browns Sign LB Demario Davis To Two-Year, $8M Deal

Brian Costello reports that the Browns are expected to sign former Jets LB Demario Davis to a contract.

  • Manish Mehta confirms that Davis is signing with the Browns and adds that he receives a two-year, $8 million deal.
  • Costello adds that Davis receives $4 million guaranteed as part of this agreement.

Yesterday, reports mentioned that Davis had traveled to Cleveland, so it appears as though they were to get a deal done fairly quickly.

Davis, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Jets back in 2012. He has played out rookie contract and is testing the open market for the first time as an unrestrictred free agent.

In 2015, Davis appeared in all 16 games for the Jets and recorded 90 tackles, two sacks a fumble recovery, and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 77 linebacker out of 97 qualifying players.

We had him featured in our Best Available Free Agents list.
