The Cleveland Browns are re-signing OL Zach Sterup to their practice squad after he officially cleared waivers on Friday, according to his agent Brett Tessler.
The Brownsโ practice squad now consists of:
- TE J.P. Holtz
- LB Deon King
- RB Terrence Magee
- DB Najee Murray
- OL Travis Averill
- WR Rashard Higgins (Exception)
- CB Darius Hillary
- DB Channing Stribling
- OL Zach Sterup
Sterup, 25, wound up going undrafted out of Nebraska back in May but received an invite to participate in the Chiefsโ rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. The Chiefs later signed him to a three-year, $1.62 million contract.
Unfortunately, Sterup was waived him coming out of the preseason last year. After a brief stint with the Jets, Sterup signed on to the Brownsโ practice squad and returned to Cleveland on a future/reserve contract this past January.
The Browns waived him on Thursday.
Sterup started 17 games for Nebraska during his college career.
