Browns Waive WR Greg Little

Update:

———–

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Cleveland Browns have waived WR Greg Little.

The Browns signed veteran receivers Miles Austin and Earl Bennett this week, but this move does come as a bit of a surprise, especially at this point in the year.

He clearly hasn’t lived up to his draft status as a second-round pick, but the Josh Gordon situation as has left them with limited talent at wide receiver, so it seemed like he would at least get the summer to work with the new coaching staff.

Little, 24, was entering the final year of his contract and would have made $753,750 this season. According to OverTheCap.com, the Browns will free up $828,750 in cap space with this move.

Last year, he appeared in all 16 games for the Browns and caught 41 passes for 465 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

We’ll have to see if anyone claims Little over the weekend.
