Cardinals “Stepping Up Efforts” To Trade LB/S Deone Bucannon

According to Jason La Canfora, the Cardinals are “stepping up their efforts” to trade former first-round LB/S Deone Bucannon.

La Canfora explains that Arizona is trying to realign their defense and adjust from a slow start to the season, which is why they’ve made Bucannon available for trade.

Last weekend, La Canfora also said that LB Haason Reddick could be available for trade, so that’s another player to watch as we draw closer to the trade deadline.

Deone Bucannon, 26, is a former first-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $7,709,200 contract when the Cardinals picked up his fifth-year option last year.

Bucannon stands to make a base salary of $8.71 million for the 2018 season before becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2019.

In 2018, Bucannon has appeared in five games for the Cardinals and recorded 14 tackles, no interceptions and one forced fumble.
