According to Adam Schefter, Chargers DE Joey Bosa is scheduled to get the cast off his foot on Sunday and use a walking boot when he’s not rehabbing or exercising.
Schefter adds that Bosa is still not expected back until sometime next month.
Bosa is specifically dealing with a bruised bone in his left foot that was expected to keep him out of the lineup for the next few weeks, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise.
Bosa actually suffered a different foot injury back on Aug. 7, which forced him to miss the entire the preseason, but unfortunately sustained a different injury to the same foot a few weeks ago.
Bosa, 23, is a former first-round pick of the Chargers back in 2016. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $25.8 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $630,000 and $720,000 over the final two years of the agreement.
The Chargers have a fifth-year to pick up regarding Bosa next year.
In 2017, Bosa appeared in all 16 games for the Chargers and recorded 70 tackles, 12.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, a recovery and a pass defense.
We’ll have more regarding Bosa as the news is available.
