Colts Hosting DT Dontari Poe For Visit Sunday, Has Interest From 4 Other Teams

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that free agent DT Dontari Poe is in “high demand” right now and plans to visit with the Colts on Sunday. According to La Canfora, Poe is also drawing interest from the Jaguars, Falcons, Raiders and Dolphins.

  • ESPN’s Ed Werder recently mentioned that there are some concerns about Poe’s back along with his overall price, which is why he hasn’t signed with a team yet.

The defensive tackle market is pretty deep this year, which could be one reason why many of them haven’t signed yet.

Poe, 26, is a former first-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2012. He played out his four-year, $11,320,006 contract but the Chiefs picked up his fifth-year option last year that will cost them $6.15 million for the 2016 season.

Poe is currently testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career.

In 2016, Poe has appeared in all 16 games for the Chiefs and recorded 27 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble and three pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 46 interior defensive lineman out of 126 qualifying players.
