Colts Place TE Brandon Williams On Injured Reserve, Promote S Ronald Martin

The Indianapolis Colts announced Friday that they’ve placed TE Brandon Williams on injured reserve and promoted S Ronald Martin to their active roster.

Williams, 30, originally signed on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Oregon back in 2013. He managed to make the 53-man roster in each of his first two years with the Panthers, but was unfortunately waived at the start of the 2015 season.

The Dolphins later signed him to their practice squad but elected to not tender him a restricted offer last offseason. Williams later signed a one-year contract with the Seahawks and finished out the year in Seattle.

The Colts signed him to a one-year, $855,000 contract this past March.

In 2017, Williams appeared in 14 games for the Colts and caught 13 passes for 121 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
