Colts Sign Three Players Including WR Harvey Binford & LB Jeremiah George, Cut Three

The Indianapolis Colts announced Thursday that they’ve signed WR Harvey Binford, WR Fred Brown and LB Jeremiah George to contracts.

To make room for their new additions, the Colts also placed WR Marcus Leak, WR Al-Damion Riles and DT Kristjan Sokoli on waivers.

Binford, 26, wound up signing on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Lindenwood last May. However, he was waived during the first round of roster cuts and didn’t catch on with another team during the season.

Binford played for the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League in 2015 and 2016. The Cardinals signed him to a contract this past March only to cut him loose shortly after this year’s draft.

During his two years in the Arena league, Binford caught 26 passes for 429 yards receiving and seven touchdowns.

George, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Jets back in 2014. He was unable to make the Jets’ 53-man roster during his rookie season but was later added to their practice squad.

George had brief stints with the Jaguars and Buccaneers before he was cut loose coming out of the preseason last year. The Cowboys signed George to their practice squad at the start of the regular and brought him back on a futures deal this past January.

However, Dallas waived him a month ago.

In 2015, George appeared in 15 games for the Buccaneers and recorded seven tackles.
