Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports reports that Cortland Finnegan has been in the process of communicating with WR Vincent Jackson in the hopes that he’ll join him at his next stop. Cole specifically mentions that Finnegan’s next stop is “looking like Tampa.”
Cole also sees the Bears as another possible landing spot for the two players but that came after someone asked him if he thought Chicago was an option.
We know that the Buccaneers have to sign or draft a cornerback so pursuing Finnegan makes a lot of sense. Earlier in the week, we mentioned that the Buc’s are considering Alabama RB Trent Richardson with their #5 overall pick which could end up being their selection if they’re able to land Finnegan.
As for Jackson, Tampa Bay could really use a legitimate #1 receiver and you would have to think that adding someone of his caliber would be towards the top of their to-do list, especially if he came in a package deal with Finnegan.
The same goes for Chicago. This would be a dream scenario for them, especially when you consider that this will be the first year that they actually have a surplus of cost-efficient draft picks.
One other speculative option for the duo could be the Minnesota Vikings.
