Dolphins In Trade Market For Help At Several Positions

According to Armando Salguero, the Dolphins are in the trade market for help at “several” positions right now and are willing to part with some talent at certain areas and draft picks for the right players.

Salguero says that the Dolphins are specifically looking for help at tight end, linebacker, running back and defensive tackle.

One player Miami could make available for trade, according to Salguero, is DE Andre Branch, who counts $10 million against their cap and is projected to be a backup.

As of now, a source tells Salguero that no trade is considered imminent

The Dolphins have been active in the trade market this offseason, which includes moving WR Jarvis Landry and acquiring DE Robert Quinn and C Daniel Kilgore in separate deals.

Branch, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract with Jacksonville before signing on with the Dolphins for the 2016 season.

Branch is in the second year of his three-year, $24 million contract that includes $16.8 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $7.9 million and $6.9 million over the final two years of the agreement.

According to OverTheCap.com, trading Branch would free up $6 million of available cap space while creating $4 million in dead money.

In 2017, Branch appeared in 14 games for the Dolphins and recorded 23 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 96 edge rusher out of 106 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding potential trades involving the Dolphins as the news is available.
