Eagles G Brandon Brooks Has Torn Achilles, 2019 Status In Question

Update:

Eagles G Brandon Brooks suffered a torn Achilles during Sunday’s loss to the Saints, per Zach Berman.

Jeff McLane adds that this injury could put part or all of Brooks’ 2019 season in jeopardy.

Eagles G Brandon Brooks suffered a “serious” lower leg injury and is out indefinitely, according to Ian Rapoport.

Rapoport adds that it’s unlikely Brooks plays against this season.

Brooks suffered the injury during the first quarter of Sunday’s playoff game against the Saints. It was clear that this was a serious injury for Brooks, as he was surrounded by his teammates before being transported off the field on a cart

Brooks, 29, is a former third-round pick of the Texans back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract with the Texans before signing a five-year, $40 million contract that included $21 million guaranteed in 2016.

Brooks stands to make base salaries of $7.5 million over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2018, Brooks appeared in all 16 games for the Eagles and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 10 guard out of 79 qualifying players.
