Vaughn McClure of ESPN reports that the Falcons won’t be signingย veteran CB Brandon Boykinย to a contract at this point in time.
The Falcons brought Boykin in for a workout and a physical earlier in the week. However, it appears as though they would prefer to see how their younger players look during OTAs before considering adding Boykin to their secondary.
Boykin, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Eagles back in 2012. He was traded to the Steelers last year for a 2016 fifth round pick after Pittsburghย sustained some injuries at cornerback.
The Panthers elected to sign him to a one-year contract back in March before cutting him looseย a few weeks ago.
In 2015, Boykin was active forย all 16 games and recorded 25 tackles, one sack, an interception, a forced fumble and five pass defenses.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 38 cornerback out of 111 qualifying players.
We have him featuredย in ourย Best Available Free Agents list.
