Aaron Wilson reports that the Cowboys have signed Cardinals RB Ryan Williams to a contract on Saturday.
- Calvin Watkins reported earlier that the Cowboys were expected to sign Williams today.
- Carlos Mendez of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram previously reported that Williams was working out for the Cowboys.
The Cowboys didn’t come away from the draft with a running back, but they they did sign undrafted free agents Texas A&M’s Ben Malena and Baylor RB Glasco Martin to contracts this past week.
Williams, 24, was taken in the second-round of the 2011 NFL draft. He suffered a serious knee injury in his first season in the league and never managed to get his confidence after returning.
He hasn’t appeared in a game since the 2012 season and has been limited to playing just 142 snaps since entering the NFL.
Even so, it can’t hurt to see where he is right now.
