Report: 5-6 Teams Interested In Free Agent S Stevie Brown

Update:

Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports that the Titans do not have interest in free agent S Stevie Brown, despite the report from Saturday that said they were among 5-6 teams in the running for Brown.

Shortly after the report came out, a Cowboys’ source told Mike Fisher that they have “no particular interest at this time” in signing Brown to a contract.

It appears as though Brown’s agent was trying to generate some interest in his client before this year’s draft. We’ll have to see if there’s any movement next week regarding Brown such as a possible visit.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that free agent S Stevie Brown is currently mulling offers from five-six teams and is expected to make a decision at some point in the near future.

  • According to Schefter, Brown has interest from the Giants, Cowboys, Falcons, Raiders, and Titans.

Brown, 27, is a former seventh round pick of the Raiders back in 2010. He has since played for the Panthers and Colts before joining the Giants as an unrestricted free agent in 2012.

Free agency got under way over a month ago, but there hasn’t been a lot of buzz regarding Brown, even after things have slowed down in recent weeks.

In 2014, Brown appeared in all 16 games for the Giants last season and recorded 38 tackles, one sack, and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 47 safety out of 87 qualifying players.
